You will receive a warm welcome at Goodstone Farm (especially from our friendly dogs) where Nigel and Joanna provide homely and comfortable cottage style self-catering accommodation for 2 adults in the ground floor farmhouse annexe.
The Annexe has been inspected and approved by the Dartmoor Tourist Association and we are members.
You enter the accommodation via a private elevated balcony with table and chairs, through French doors into the large bedroom.It comprises:
A spacious double bedroom (super king-sized bed, can be made into twin) and en-suite bathroom.
Good size and well appointed kitchen/diner.
Large and comfortable sitting room.
There is central heating throughout and an open fire in the sitting room. All fuel and power is included in the rent.
Also included are bed linen, towels and t/towels. (You must bring your own beach towels).
A cot is available on request (only mattress and sheet provided).
Dog bed provided for pet owners. (Please bring your own dog bedding).
Use of the garden is shared with owners. You are welcome use the gas BBQ by prior arrangement.
There is ample private off-road parking.
A "Welcome Pack" is provided containing:
Tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, sugar, bread, butter, home-made marmalade, eggs from our own rescued battery hens, bacon (home cured by our local butcher - Rodney Cleave in Ashburton)
Extra eggs, marmalade and seasonal vegetables from the kitchen garden can be purchased.
We are dog friendly and happy for you to bring one well behaved dog. (see Tariffs and Terms & Conditions).
Goodstone Farm (no longer a working farm) is set in a small, peaceful hamlet nestled just off the A38. This quiet secluded location is on the edge of The Dartmoor National Park in the heart of South Devon. The village of Bickington is close to the towns of Ashburton, and Newton Abbot.
The farmhouse, in this tranquil setting, is approached via a no-through road and the only traffic is either local or lost!
Goodstone Farm is ideally situated for cycling, walking, moorland rambling, climbing, canoeing or general sightseeing with easy access to some of the most scenic areas of Devon. These include Widecombe in the Moor, Hay Tor, Princetown, the cathedral cities of Exeter and Plymouth as well as the beautiful coast of the South Hams. With easy access to the A38, the Eden Project and other Cornish places of interest are within day visit range.
A selection of excellent local country pubs, restaurants and shops are within easy reach of this holiday cottage.
